Youth Congress activists staged a demonstration today, accusing the BJP-led NDA government of "betraying" the people, as it "failed" to mitigate the plight of the poor and provide jobs.
The protesters also hit out at the BJD government in Odisha, alleging that its 18-year rule was marked by "rampant corruption, inaction and inefficiency".
All India Youth Congress President Keshav Yadav said time has come for the youths of Odisha to raise their voice against BJD's "misrule" and the "betrayal" by the Centre.
"Instead of taking steps to check suicide by farmers, the BJP-led government adopted a policy that aggravated the problems of the peasants and added to their miseries," he said.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said, while the four-year tenure of the Central government was marked by "hollow speeches", the 18 years of Naveen Patnaik regime in the state was an era of "inaction and inefficiency."
