Youth Cong, BJYM clash: Vikramaditya Singh gets bail

A local court here today granted regular bail to Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh in the case relating to a clash between Youth Congress workers and members of BJP's youth wing at the state BJP office here on January 29.
About a dozen activists were injured in the clash which took place as Youth Congress members, led by Vikramaditya, the son of chief minister Vibhadra Singh, were staging a demonstration at the BJP office against the Land Acquisition Ordinance promulgated by the NDA government at the Centre.
BJP and Congress blamed each other for the clash and three FIRs by police, BJP and Congress were registered while Singh himself had sought anticipatory bail.
He was granted three days' interim bail on February 1, which was extended till February 7. The regular bail was granted today by district and sessions judge Varinder Singh on the condition that he would join the probe as and when required.
Four workers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, BJP's youth wing, were injured in the clash. Congress has claimed that three Youth Congress workers were also injured in the incident even as it maintains that it was holding a peaceful protest.
