Youth Congress on Thursday held a demonstration in Jaipur against the Rafale aircraft deal, inflation and unemployment, prompting the police to use mild force on Thursday.
Two persons received minor injuries during the protest which was led by Rajasthan Youth Congress president and Congress MLA Ashok Chandna at Sahakar road.
"We raised the issue of corruption in Rafale deal by the Centre. The prime minister (Narendra Modi) has benefitted his friends with the corrupt deal and we will highlight the issue in every city and town in the state so that people should know about this," Chandna told reporters.
The protesters tried to march towards the assembly, but police thwarted them by using mild force. Water cannons were used and they were dispersed.
Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi said there was resentment among people against the BJP-led governments in the state and Centre, accusing them of betraying the people.
"The government failed to contain the rising prices of fuel, inflation. Youths are unemployed and farmers are suffering," Dudi said, adding that the demonstration was successful.
