"Some newspapers today have quoted Mishra as saying that former DMAT controller Yogesh Uprit has not rpt not told the police that he used to give Rs 10 crore whenever a new minister took charge of medical education department.
This shows that Mishra knows about the investigation and is influencing the probe," Youth Congress spokesman Sameer Dixit said here.
DMAT is held for admission to private medical colleges.
Dixit said according to newspapers Uprit, arrested on June 3 in Gwalior for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25 lakh from Jabalpur resident Dr R S Johri to help his daughter clear pre-PG medical test in 2010, told investigators that he and other co-accused used to give Rs 10 crore to the new minister whenever there was a change of guard.
When contacted, Mishra told PTI that the allegations were unfounded and baseless. "If they have credible evidence about Uprit's statement to police, they should produce it first and then speak against me," he said.
Dixit said Youth Congress will start a state-wide protest from tomorrow to press for Mishra's resignation.
