The state wing of Indian Youth Congress will hold a protest against the controversial land acquisition ordinance and gherao Rajasthan Assembly on February 28, demanding withdrawal of any amendment in the existing act brought out by previous UPA government.
Thousands of party workers of 'Pradesh Yuva Congress', state unit of Indian Youth Congress, will hold a protest rally on February 28 and will gherao the Rajasthan Assembly building against the ordinance, Congress MLA Ashok Chandna said.
"By amending the existing act, the BJP governments at Centre and state will grab poor farmers' land and sell it to big business houses who worked for these saffron parties during previous elections," Chandna, who is also the president of Pradesh Yuva Congress, alleged.
The wing will also protest against power tariff hike, withdrawal of Rs 25 subsidy on LPG cylinder, and rising non-employment in the state, he said, adding, BJP government had promised to provide jobs to 15 lakh youths in five years, and so far it had not created those jobs.
Youth Congress' protest would be attended by senior Congress leaders including PCC President Sachin Pilot, and other MLAs and leaders from AICC, he said.
On RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's comments against Mother Teresa in Bharatpur yesterday, Chandna said for getting media popularity, RSS or BJP leaders make such "unruly" remarks which would not be acceptable by any one in society.
