Youth dies as billboard falls, two injured

A 28-year-old executive working with a house-keeping firm was killed and two others injured after a billboard collapsed and fell on them here, police said.
The incident took place when Prithvisena Reddy, was crossing from Gachibowli Cross Road in Hi-tech City area on a motorcycle when the huge hoarding erected along the roadside suddenly collapsed on him and two other motorcyclists, police officer Srikanth, attached to Madhapur police station said.
A case has been registered against the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for alleged negligence in connection with the incident, the officer said.
"While Reddy died on the spot after sustaining head injuries, two others who were hurt in the incident, were rushed to a hospital," he said.
Police was in the process of questioning the contractor, who had erected the billboard.
According to some media reports, it is being alleged that the hoarding which fell was of the recently concluded event 11th Metropolis Congress. However, the police officer did not confirm the same.
