Additional Sessions Judge M C Gupta handed the jail term to Uttar Pradesh resident Jaswant Yadav, saying the offence against him has been "established by the cogent and reliable evidence".
"During the period from December 2009 to July 2010, convict Jaswant kept her (victim) confined at Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab and committed rape upon her.
"It is sufficiently established by cogent and reliable evidence and in the ultimate analysis, the prosecution has been able to bring the guilt home to the accused Jaswant beyond shadows of all reasonable doubts...," the court said, while imposing a fine of Rs 25,000 on the convict.
The victim, a class XI student, accompanied Jaswant as she knew him and his father. The prosecution further stated that after the girl reached there, she was told that Jaswant, who worked as an iron welder, wanted her to marry him.
Later, the girl was kidnapped by Jaswant and forcibly taken to Mumbai.
The court, however, discharged the convict's father, mother and sister due to lack of evidence.
