Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Jain jailed the youth rejecting his plea for leniency in sentencing.
The court rejected his offer to marry the 14-year-old victim, saying the "convict failed to convince the court as to how the victim can marry him when she is just about 14-years-and-4-months-old as on date."
The victim's family had also sought release of the youth on probation or on the sentence already undergone, saying they have accepted him as his son-in-law and the convict also expressed his wish to marry the victim.
"Needless to say, the victim cannot marry unless she attains the age of 18 years. No one can predict whether victim will be ready to marry with convict after attaining adulthood.
"Thus, mere fact that parents of the victim have treated convict as son-in-law or convict is willing to marry the victim are not sufficient mitigating factors to release the convict on probation or to sentence him for period already undergone," the ASJ said.
The victim and the convict deposed in the court that they knew each other for past three years and the physical relations between them were consensual.

The prosecution case was that on December 10 last year, the victim's father lodged a complaint saying on December 8, his daughter had gone to a friend's house but did not return and he suspected she has been kidnapped.
On December 12, he, however, intimated police that he has brought his daughter home and that she has been raped.
In her statement to police, the victim said she was in touch with the youth for the last three years and that on December 8, the youth took her to a room near Dwarka where they stayed together for two days.
The girl told the court that the convict established physical relations during these two days with her consent and then left her near her cousin's place in Sonia Vihar from where she came back home.
