Amit Yadav (25) lured the 12-year-old girl into his house when she was on her way to a friend's house on Thursday night and raped her, they said.
Later, a case was lodged against the accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's parents.
Amit was today produced in a court which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.
Further investigations into the matter are underway, police added.
