Youth, infrastructure and industry are the main priority areas of Chhattisgarh's Rs 65,013-crore Budget 2015-16 tabled in the Assembly today.
Chief Minister Raman Singh, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented the Budget which seeks to give a push to 'Make in India' campaign that aims to make the country a manufacturing hub.
Emphasis on development of youth, infrastructure and industry would help in fulfilling the vision of 'Make in India' and a skilled India envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.
Singh expressed gratitude to Modi for reposing faith in states and working towards cooperative federalism in both letter and spirit.
"For the first time, there is a separate section, 'Youth Budget'. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to present a separate youth Budget, in which skill development has been given the top priority."
About Rs 6,151 crore has been allocated for development of youth, which is equal to 16 per cent of the state plan outlay, the Chief Minister said.
