The police recovered the body of Sagar Nayak yesterday and detained three of his friends for interrogation.
Nayak worked in Surat and was on a visit to his village for Dussehra festival. Before returning to Gujarat, Nayak and five of his friends organised a party on the outskirts of the village on Saturday.
He died after someone struck him with a bamboo, the police said adding one of his friends who was at the feast informed Nayak's family.
Though the reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained, police suspected that the deceased and his friends were drunk.
