Youth on way to attend sister's funeral crushed to death

In a tragedy for a family, a 24-year-old youth was crushed to death by a DTC bus when he was going to attend the last rites of his sister in Gazipur area of East Delhi here today.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Amit Giri, a resident of East Vinod Nagar.
"Amit's sister Babli who was admitted in a private hospital in Mayur Vihar area died during the course of treatment today. His family informed him about the death of his sister," said a police official.
He was on his way to the cemetery on a bike along with his friend when the DTC bus hit them.

Amit came under its wheel.
His friend too was badly injured in the incident.
Police have registered a case of death due to rash and negligence driving at the local police station. The driver was arrested and the bus was impounded.
