The accused Umesh Kumar was arrested on grounds of suspicion during a routing security check at a hotel last night, they said, adding that a large number of fake army identity cards and other documents were recovered from him.
Umesh, an M.Tech degree holder who belongs to Churu district of Rajasthan, had introduced himself to the hotel authorities as a Captain of army's Signal Regiment during his stay, they said.
He is being interrogated to ascertain the source of the fake army documents recovered from him and the angle of any possible breach of security at various army establishments in the state is also being probed.
