Youth rapes teenage girl in Punjab

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor on the pretext of marriage in Gandhi camp area here, police said today.
The victim, a class XII student, complained that the 17-year-old boy met her outside her school on October 16 and took her to his house while promising to befriend and marry her later, they said.
The accused raped her in his house, they said, adding that his mother also knew about the act of her son as she had bolted the duo in the room.
On the basis of her complaint, a case was yesterday registered against the minor and his mother, they said.

While the accused was today apprehended, his mother is absconding.
The victim was today handed over to her parents after her medical examination was conducted at the civil hospital here, police said.
