A youth, who had shot dead an alleged sex worker as she was opposing his relationship with another woman, was today remanded in 13 days' judicial custody by a Delhi court.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sudhanshu Kaushik sent accused Munshi Ram Yadav, 25, to judicial custody (JC) till March 16 after the police did not seek his further custody.
"The accused (Yadav) has been produced from police custody.... The investigating officer needs no further custody. The accused is remanded to judicial custody till March 16. He be produced from jail on March 16," the court said.
Yadav was produced in the court after expiry of his seven days' police remand. On February 25, Yadav was sent to police custody as the cops wanted to take him to Saharsa in Bihar to find out source of the weapon used in the crime.
Earlier, the police had sought Yadav's custody saying he had bought a country-made pistol from Bihar to kill the woman whom he allegedly shot twice on February 24 night near Sarai Kale Khan close to the busy Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and a PCR van.
According to the police, Yadav killed 25-year-old Pooja as she was against his relationship with another woman who was also allegedly working under her as a sex worker.
