Youth shot dead over old rivalry

A 23-year-old youth was shot dead in Panchvati area of Old Nashik, allegedly over an old rivalry, police said today.
The deceased is identified as Praveen alias Sameer Hande (23).
Police said when Praveen was returning home last night when the accused Tukaram Chotve, along with others, waylaid him, following which a brawl ensued.
The accused Chotve then allegedly pulled out a country-made pistol and shot Hande in head, resulting in his death on the spot, police said.
The accused and his friend, identified only as Nilesh, are absconding, they said.
