A 24-year-old youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his younger brother and two cousins over a property dispute at Sector 20 in outer Delhi's Rohini sub-city.
According to police, the incident took place last night when the victim, Vikas Solanki, entered into a heated argument with his younger brother, Pawan, 20, who was later joined by their cousins Rahul, 22, and Ekraaj, 28.
The argument turned into a violent scuffle and Vikas was stabbed multiple times by the trio. Vikas's wife, Poonam, who was carrying their two-day-old daughter in her arms, was a witness to the incident. But before she could raise an alarm, the trio fled the scene, police said.
"A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered at Aman Vihar police station and the three accused have been arrested," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikramjit Singh.
Vikas, who owned an internet cafe at Aman Vihar, used to ill-treat his father because of a dispute over a 100-odd square-yard plot, which the family inherited, the DCP said.
During interrogation, Pawan told police about the family dispute and how he was infuriated by Vikas's aggressive attitude towards him and their father. After the fight broke out last night, he called up his cousins, who stay at Aman Vihar, and the trio stabbed Vikas with a knife in a fit of rage, he said.
Vikas's father, who owns a few e-rickshaws operating in the area, has claimed that he had no knowledge about the fight that broke out between the brothers last night.
The body was handed over to his family after post-mortem, the official added.
