An 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death allegedly by half a dozen assailants in Sangam Vihar area of southeast Delhi, police said today.
The victim, identified as Ravi, was allegedly waylaid by six youths while he was on his way to meet his friends in I Block of Sangam Vihar area. He was chased around and stabbed repeatedly last night, said a police officer.
When attacked, Ravi raised an alarm for help but the passersby remained mute spectators as his knife-wielding attackers threatened them of dire consequences.
On being informed by the locals, the police reached the spot and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead, he said.
The attackers also stabbed and injured victim's friend Imtiaz, who was hospitalised.
One of the accused in the case, Arman (20), has been arrested, said the officer.
Ravi lived with his family at K K Block in Sangam Vihar and drove a Gramin Sewa auto. He had picked up a fight with some youths a few days ago and had even lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. He was allegedly under pressure from them to take back his complaint, the officer said.
