Youth, who posed as eunuch, rapes woman, arrested

A 23-year-old youth, who used to cheat people by posing as a eunuch, has been arrested after he allegedly raped a woman in Nabi Karim area of central Delhi, police said.
Based on the 22-year-old victim's complaint, an FIR was registered against Sonu, of West Bengal, and he was arrested from his rented room at Nabi Karim.
Sonu had befriended the woman when she arrived from Odisha at New Delhi railway station and promised to get her a job. "On Friday, he took her to his room on the pretext of a job interview and raped her," Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar said.

During interrogation, Sonu allegedly confessed that he cheated people by posing as a eunuch and made money. He also admitted to have raped the woman, said a police official.
He has been booked under section 376 and other relevant sections of the IPC while the victim has bent sent to a rehabilitation centre, police said.
