Cable network FX has renewed the comedy series "Baskets", starring Zach Galifianakis, for a second season.
Set to return in early 2017, the clown show co-created by Galifianakis, Louis C K and Jonathan Krisel ranks as the most-watched basic cable primetime comedy series premiere since 2014 among the key adults 18-49 demo and total viewers, said the Hollywood Reporter.
Factoring in seven days of delayed viewing, the first three episodes of Baskets have averaged 944,000 viewers among the advertiser-coveted adults under 50 demo and 1.5 million total viewers.
"Baskets is bold, brilliant and incredibly funny and we could not be happier with the reception it's received in its breakout first season," FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said.
"Baskets brings together three of the most innovative comedic minds working today - Zach, Louis and Jonathan - and we thank them, the rest of the creative team and the entire cast for everything they've done for the series.
