Zensar Q2 net profit dips 11% to Rs 62.6 cr

Mid-sized software services firm Zensar Technologies today reported an 11 per cent drop in consolidated net profit at Rs 62.6 crore for the September 2017 quarter.
The Pune-headquartered firm had posted a net profit of Rs 70.4 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
Its revenue from operations also declined 1 per cent to Rs 762.6 crore in the said quarter from Rs 770.3 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenues from digital services moved up 5.3 per cent sequentially from a 36.3 per cent contribution in the first quarter to 36.8 per cent in the reported quarter.
On sequential basis, Zensar's net profit was up 32.8 per cent, while revenue was higher by 3.5 per cent from the April-June 2017 quarter.
"The company continues to have a razor sharp focus on its Digital business and has kept up the growth momentum in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017-2018," Zensar TechnologiesCEO and Managing Director Sandeep Kishore said.

Zensar's proprietary 'Return on Digital' platform with its new suite of innovative solutions, has continued to help the company leverage new wins, with half of the quantum of wins in Digital services, he added.
Kishore said key regions and industries performed well during the quarter and the company continues to focus on strategic thrust areas.
The company had 8,414 employees at the end of September, 2017 with the gross addition of 419 people, while the attrition rate stood at 15.4 per cent.
During the said quarter, the company added 29 new clients with the number of active clients at 248 at the end of the reported quarter.
In terms of geography, revenues from the the US grew 0.5 per cent, Europe by 3.3 per cent and Africa by 8.7 per cent on q-o-q basis in constant currency.
