Prices of zinc and copper fell by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today on bearish global trend amid subdued demand from consuming industries.
Traders said sentiments remained weak after zinc declined in the overseas markets on speculation that the dollar's strength will slow demand for the metal and an increase in stockpiles.
Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months retreated 0.8 per cent to USD 2,364 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, zinc ingot and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 113-119 and Rs 430 per kg, respectively.
