Zinc futures prices today fell 0.19% as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish domestic demand and a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in June eased by 25 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 129.75 per kg in a business turnover of 410 lots.

Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in July shed 10 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 130.70 per kg in 10 lots.

According to marketmen, the fall in zinc prices was due to sluggish domestic demand at the spot market amid a weak trend in metals at the London Metal Exchange ahead of data projected to signal continued weakness in manufacturing in China, the world's biggest metals consumer.
