Zinc futures fell 0.36% to Rs 139.25 per kg today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in November eased by 50 paise, or 0.36%, to Rs 139.25 per kg in a business turnover of 423 lots.

Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in November fell by a similar margin to Rs 139.85 in 34 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in zinc prices in futures trade was due to sluggish domestic demand in the spot market amid a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as a stronger dollar eroded appeal for commodities priced in the greenback.
