Zinc prices were down by 0.44 per cent to Rs 125.55 per kg in futures trade today after speculators lightened their positions, tracking a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in the current month declined by 55 paise, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 125.55 per kg, in a business turnover of 821 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June softened by 45 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 126.30 per kg in 18 lots.
Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Globally, zinc prices were down by 0.40 per cent at the LME.
