Zinc prices declined by 2.64% to Rs 140.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, triggered by a weak trend in global markets on demand concern.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month moved down by Rs 3.80, or 2.64%, to Rs 140.30 per kg in business turnover of 3,355 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 3.65, or 2.52%, to Rs 141 per kg in 406 lots.
Analysts said weakness in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) upon demand concerns on signs of slowing economic growth from China to the US, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
