Zinc eases by 0.2% on global cues

Participants reduced their exposure taking weak cues from the Asian trade market

Taking weak cues from Asian trade and sluggish demand at domestic market, zinc prices fell 0.18%, to 138.50 per kg in futures trade today as the participants reduced their exposure.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June declined 25 paise, or 0.18%, to Rs 138.50 per kg in a business turnover of 20 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in May shed 15 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 137.85 per kg in 454 lots.

Analysts said the weakness in zinc in futures trade was mostly due to sluggishness in copper and other base metals at Shanghai Futures Exchange.

Meanwhile, London Metal Exchange is closed today due to a public holiday in the UK.
