Zinc prices were trading lower by 0.37 per cent at Rs 213 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend at the domestic spot market due to low demand.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April eased by 80 paise, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 213 per kg, in a business turnover of 735 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May softened by 70 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 213.20 per kg in four lots.
Analysts said, besides weakness in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on global trade tensions, subdued demand at the domestic spot markets put pressure on zinc futures here.
