Amid sluggish domestic demand and a weak global trend, zinc prices fell 0.66% to Rs 128.80 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January traded lower by 85 paise, or 0.66%, to Rs 128.80 per kg with a business turnover of 606 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in February down by 80 paise, or 0.61%, to 129.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 17 lots.
Marketmen said besides weak spot demand, a weak global trend after a gauge of China's services industry fell, stoking concern that demand will weaken in the biggest consumer, weighed on the zinc futures prices.
