Extending gains for the second day, zinc prices advanced by 0.99 per cent to Rs 158.35 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in enlarging their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on strong demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June rose by Rs 1.55, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 158.35 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,602 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 1.55, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 158.95 per kg in 28 lots.
Analysts said expanding of positions by traders on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly kept zinc prices up at futures trade.
