Zinc prices edged up by 0.39 per cent to Rs 204.30 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions after uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in December edged higher by 80 paise, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 204.30 per kg in business turnover of 7965 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in January was trading higher by 65 paise, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 204.45 per kg in 172 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
