Zinc prices went up by 0.49 per cent to Rs 183.30 per kg in futures trading today as traders created fresh positions amid a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July edged up by 90 paise, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 183.30 per kg in a business turnover of 1,983 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in August traded higher by 85 paise, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 183.65 per kg in 33 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants following upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly attributed the rise in zinc prices at futures trade.
