Zinc prices declined by 0.674% to 141.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions after the metal weakened at the London Metal Exchange (LME) amidst subdued domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August declined by 95 paise, or 0.67%, to Rs 141.50 per kg in business turnover of 1,035 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September shed 80 paise, or 0.56%, to Rs 142.40 per kg in 61 lots.
Analysts said the decline in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to weakness in copper and other base metals at the LME.
