Zinc futures were marginally up by 0.14% to Rs 138.85 per kg as speculators created positions amid a firming trend in base metals overseas and better domestic demand.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July was up by 20 paise, or 0.14%, at Rs 138.85 per kg, with a business turnover of 3 lots.

The metal for delivery in June also rose 15 paise, or 0.11%, to trade at Rs 138.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 156 lots.

Marketmen said strength in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange supported the upside in zinc prices in futures trade.
