Zinc prices moved down 1.53 per cent to Rs 164.15 per kg in futures market today after participants cut down their bets amid a weak trend at the domestic spot markets on low demand.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month shed Rs 2.55, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 164.15 per kg, in a business turnover of 563 lots.
Metal for delivery in June also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 164.75 per kg in a business turnover of 14 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in base metals at the physical markets due to muted demand mainly put pressure on zinc prices in futures trade.
