Zinc prices moved down 0.32% to Rs 142.25 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed their positions, in tandem with a weak global trend.
In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May contracts dropped 45 paise, or 0.32%, to Rs 142.25 per kg in business turnover of 313 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June traded lower by 35 paise, or 0.24%, to Rs 143 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.
The LME index of six metals tumbled 2.4% on Tuesday to 2,818.8, the biggest fall since January 23. The gauge dropped 6.1% from a 20-week high on May 5.
