Zinc strengthens on increased demand

Zinc prices gained Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today on increased demand amid a firming global trend.
Traders said sentiment in zinc bolstered after it recovered from the lowest in more than three months in global markets before a report projected sustained manufacturing expansion in China, the biggest consumer of industrial metals.
Meanwhile, Zinc for delivery in three months climbed 0.2 per cent to USD 2,215.25 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, zinc ingot moved up by Rs 2 to Rs 118-124 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 118-124, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,087-1,093, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 435, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 168, Aluminium sheet cutting 169, Aluminium wire scrap 171 and Aluminium utensils scrap 168.
