It will be a double delight for St Mary's School here when its alumnus Zubin Mehta, world famous music conductor, visits the school on September 11.
The school, started in 1864, is located at Mazgaon. Mehta's visit is part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.
"Mehta, an alumnus of St Mary's ICSE, expresses great pride in being an ex-student of the institution and has a deep sense of nostalgia for the school. He last visited the institution in 1967," a release said.
The school has planned a year-long celebration, including social initiatives by students, which will begin with a pre-inaugural function, where Mehta will unveil the 150 years celebration logo.
The school will be organising a series of events to commemorate the legacy of the century and a half of education, values and excellence beyond academics.
Some of its prominent alumni are Goolam Vahanvati, Azim Premji, Sooraj Barjatya, Boman Irani, Shailesh Haribhakti, Iqbal Chagla, Homi K Bhabha, Kunal Vijaykar, Adille Sumariwalla and Justice Bhaktawar Lentin.
