NEW YORK (Reuters) - The trading halt across U.S. options markets on Monday was caused by a code change being implemented during the rollout of certain software upgrades, a unit of exchange operator NYSE Euronext said on Tuesday.

A software issue affecting the processing of quotations that occurred during the rollout of a code change to improve the efficiency of the securities information processor was detected, the service desk of NYSE Technologies said in a statement.
