OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada will not be deterred by U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to scrap NAFTA and had expected moments of drama during talks to renegotiate the treaty, a government official said on Wednesday.
"This was always a card we knew the president would likely play ... it's not going to cause us to waver at all in our position," said the official, who declined to be identified given the sensitivity of the situation. The United States, Canada and Mexico opened negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement last week.
