NEW YORK (Reuters) - Essar said on Tuesday all units at its 296,000 barrel per day (bpd) Stanlow refinery in northwestern England were shut down after a problem with steam supply.

"We are now working to restore steam supply and effect a safe re-start," an Essar spokesman said in emailed comments.

He did not have an estimate for when the units would be back on line.
