PARIS (Reuters) - France will make its tax regime for expats the most favourable in Europe and make it easier for foreign firms to set up shop in France, Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on Wednesday, outlining measures to attract finance jobs from London.
In a rare speech to Paris' financial industry, Valls said that France's already favourable tax regime for expats and French nationals would now be applicable for their first eight years in France, up from five currently.
The government would also set up a one-stop administrative point for foreign firms seeking a foothold in France and schools would open as many classes for foreign children in their native language as necessary, Valls said.
"We are bringing solutions today to companies that are asking questions and expecting answers to prepare for the future," Valls said, unveiling plans to make Paris "Europe's top financial centre".
