Indian banks' loans rose 9.4% in the two weeks to June 24 from a year earlier, while deposits rose 9.7%, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.
Outstanding loans rose Rs 4,950 crores ($735.24 million) to Rs 72,56,000 crores in the two weeks to June 24. Non-food credit rose Rs 1,380 crores to 71.56 trillion rupees, while food credit rose Rs 3,570 crores to Rs 1,00,000 crores.
Bank deposits rose Rs 30,280 crores to 95.96 trillion rupees in the two weeks to June 24.
