Reuters Market Eye - The BSE Sensex and Nifty were trading in negative territory on Monday, heading towards their first fall in four sessions.
The benchmark index was down 0.41 percent while the broader Nifty lost 0.5 percent as of 11:00 a.m.
Markets are tracking weak Asian peers ahead of China flash manufacturing PMI data on Tuesday.
Drugmakers led the falls.
Cipla Ltd lost 2.4 percent, Dr Reddy's Laboratories was down 1.9 percent.
Some other blue-chips also fell.

Hindustan Unilever was trading 1.3 percent lower.
