MUMBAI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex fell more than 1 percent on Tuesday, as lenders such as ICICI Bank Ltd fell after the rupee's record low dashed rate-cut hopes.
ICICI Bank provisionally fell 3.8 percent, while Axis Bank Ltd ended 2.9 percent lower.
The Sensex provisionally fell 1.53 percent, while the Nifty ended down 1.52 percent, closing below its 200 day-moving-average of 5,791.46 for the first time in two months. (Reporting by Abhishek Vishnoi; Editing by Subhranshu Sahu)
