Reuters Market Eye - The BSE Sensex and Nifty on Friday rose to their second consecutive record highs. The 30-share Sensex surged as much as 1.52 percent to an all-time high of 27,762.13.
The broader Nifty gained as much as 1.49 percent to a record of 8,291.65.
The Sensex was 1.31 percent while the Nifty rose 1.28 percent as of 1:36 p.m.
ITC was down 0.17 percent after the company reported September-quarter earnings.
Japan's Nikkei stock average surged to a seven-year high and the yen tumbled to its lowest since early 2008 against the dollar on Friday as the Bank of Japan caught markets flat-footed with its surprise monetary easing decision.
Exporters gained for a second day on U.S. Federal Reserve's optimism. Infosys was up 2.01 percent.
