An Israeli software could help cut down communication costs by as much as 15 per cent.

Small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India keen to bring down telecommunication costs can now avail of a new hardware that can bring down communication costs by as much as 15 per cent.

An Israeli company, Tadiran Telecom (TTL), and its Indian business partner, BPL Telecom (BPLT), recently launched two software products that the duo claimed were ideal for SMBs looking to bring down costs with minimal disruption in processes and operations during installations and limited pre-operational training requirements.

One product, sold under the brand name Composite, is a contact centre solution, while the other, branded Coral Ipx, is an office solutions package, delivered out of the same box.

SMBs which make and receive a large number of telephone calls would be able to reduce costs upto 15 per cent using Composite which permits multiple interaction, like inbound and outbound calls, emails, fax and web call back through a single interface.

"It would take less than a week for any SMB to install Composite. Only an hour of training before starting use was necessary," Asaf Tishay, director, regional sales and marketing, Tadiran Telecom, claimed.

"This was especially handy at call centres where the organisation's success depended on cost-effective and personalised service," said Tishay.

The other product, Coral IPx, was targetted for small and medium business organisations that had to make a lot of international calls and was looking for ways to bring down outgoing call costs. For example, if a company had branches or headquarters overseas and had to constantly coordinate with them, instead of spending a large amount of money everyday on making outgoing international calls, the company may want to use Coral IPx, explained Tishay.

"We are bullish on the SMB market in India and are offering the Coral IPx for $3,000," said Tishay. "We may offer a discount on the price if Coral IPx is bought in bulk," added Rajnish Gupta, director marketing, India.

Tadiran Telecom reported global sales of $100 million last year. Tadiran said it was at present distributing IP communication solutions in 41 countries and a user base of 94,000 customers worldwide.
