Original content gets a new platform on web

Speaking to Business Standard, Kavitha Nambiar, director, Acethetik.com, said the portal has lined up many an exciting product for the coming days. "Our USP is original content, which were till now destined to remain unnoticed and unsold due to lack of avenues for the creators.

We are in the process of providing a platform for these writers, singers, poets, artists, and even dancers to showcase their unheard of works on our portal. These, the creators can do it free of cost and thereby lure buyers," Nambiar said.

On the portal's working on the financial front, Nambiar added: "We have a unique revenue model where by the creators of the original content would be able to pocket a good part of the sale amount if the content is sold through the portal. We go by a 60:40 revenue sharing model, where 60 per cent of the sale amount would be the content creator's while 40 per cent would be ours," she said. Some of the content is also offered free, Nambiar added.

"Apart from hymns collection titled Manna, which is Reverend Thomas Koshie's superlative revival of lyrics and composition based on olden days' rendering, we have a handful of new products. Prominent among them is a poetry project from Malayalam writer Prof Anandakuttan's collection, which will be sung by famed singers such as Sujatha, , Shwetha and others," she said.

The portal has also started attracting film companies from Kerala who approach the company for sourcing of original content for their film projects. "The recent Malayalam flick titled
