TiE Chennai, a non-profit organisation that works towards supporting new entrepreneurs through education, mentoring and networking, plans to organise a two-day conclave for entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu on December 3 and 4, which is expected to open opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow their business.
The conclave, TiECON Chennai 2012, the flagship event of TiE Chennai, will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs to make connections and pitch their ideas to investors. This year the theme is ‘Powering the Next Step’. The event will play host to over 1,200 delegates comprising business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, regulators, bankers, academia and students.
TiE Chennai, which has been supporting entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas and ensure their access to finance, has also started helping them to access markets, according to Lakshmi Narayanan, president of TiE Chennai and vice-chairman of Cognizant Technologies.
The event will see a PowerPitch Fest, which is a session with investors, for entrepreneurs seeking funding. Some 25-30 angel and venture capital investors have expressed interest in participating in the event, according to the organisers. The event will also see TiE Chennai giving away entrepreneur awards to successful entrepreneurs.
