The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked a volume of Rs 415.16 crore of which the treasury bills segment contributed a volume of Rs 45 crore yesterday.
The corporate debenture segment witnessed 510 trades, accounting for trades worth Rs 78.04 lakh.

With the call money market ruling in the region of four-five per cent there was buying interest for the government securities, said a NSE broker. There were 70 trades recorded at the government securities segment of the WDM of which the 10.85 per cent paper maturing in 2001 and the 12.14 per cent gilt maturing in 2000 were in high demand contributing trades worth Rs 50 crore each. The 10.85 per cent loan maturing in 2000 was traded at a weighted yield of 9.97 per cent, at the low of Rs 102.50, high of Rs 102.66 and closed at Rs 102.60 for the day.
The 12.14 per cent paper maturing in 2000 was traded at a weighted yield of 9.69 per cent at a low of Rs 105.30 and a high of Rs 105.40 for the day. The 11.19 per cent gilt maturing in 2005 was traded for Rs 30 crore at a weighted yield of 10.75 per cent. The paper was traded at a low of Rs 102.10, high of Rs 102.27 and closed at Rs 102.21 for the day.
